Personal Care Aide (PCA)
Program Details

Course Overview
The GCTI Personal Care Aide Program is a 40 hour, introductory program. Our program is designed to put you directly into a career as a Personal Care Aide, fully preparing you for your rewarding new career.
A Personal Care Aide cares for patients in the home. Their work enables the elderly, disabled, and ill patients to live in their own homes rather than in a health care facility. With their help, patients can spend less time in the hospital, which not only reduces health care expenses, but also allows a patient to enjoy the comforts of their own home.
The primary role of the PCA is to perform assistive duties, such as range-of-motion exercises, personal hygiene, grooming, transfers, and proper positioning of the patient. Their work sometimes includes light housekeeping chores, such as shopping, cooking and light cleaning.
Enrollment is $500.00 for all students. Classes are Monday through Thursday, from 9am to 3pm for 7 days.
