English As a Second Language (ESL) Program
Do you want to learn or improve your English proficiency? GCTI has developed an interactive approach to learning English, confidently. Our English proficiency program consists of six intense weeks of training which involves speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Our classes are led by highly training and skilled individuals who have a vast background in multiple languages to include Spanish, French, Russian, and German.
Our six-week English proficiency program will prepare you for real world experiences. Our innovative workshops allow our highly-trained instructors to focus on specific topics each week. We allow a maximum of five students per class to ensure each student’s individual needs are addressed while catering to each student’s personal learning style. Classes are conducted Monday through Friday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm for a total of 20 hours per week and 120 hours for the total program.
“Keeping Up” is an innovative approach that takes objectives gained during the week and combines them with an interactive skill session. Our curriculum is composed of six content areas that focus on Navigation the Metro Area, Government Transition, American Culture, Understand How Credit Works, Verbal Communication Skills, and Written Communication Skills. The objectives of each course are delivered on a daily basis with the expectation that each student will participate in as interactive skills session each week. Interactive Skill Sessions (ISS) will incorporate a variety of activities to include
museum tours, metro rail excursions, and mock job interviews. At the completion of this course students will have the confidence to not only speak English effectively, but sharpen their knowledge of American Culture.
